Working with expectations

Recently learned about the 4 tendencies from @gretchenrubin - which is definitely on my to-read list. What I love about this framework is the focus on expectations, which is at the core of performance and results! 

 

Her framework outlines 4 tendencies: upholders, questioners, rebels and obligers. 

 

Turns out I am an #upholder, someone who strives to meet both inner and outer expectations. While that may sound great, I can also see the limitations of this tendency. For myself in particular, I can get so caught up in discipline and hitting expectations that I lose sight of why the expectation was there in the first place - and from my own experience, taking a step back may reveal the priorities has changed or an out of the box solution to achieve that why.
